Dakota Friedman - Awaken Coach
From the start, Dakota knew that movement and performance were his passions. “I remember seeing dancers and gymnasts as a kid, and being super impressed by both the technical precision and artistic expression of these athletes.” By high school, Dakota joined a performance/competitive dance troupe where he dedicated 6+ years. His training included hip-hop, jazz, ballet, tumbling, and break-dancing.
Upon discovering gymnastic bodyweight training, and realizing how well it compliments his dance training, Dakota’s love for training hard was rekindled in the best possible way.
Dakota is excited to bring both stretch and strength to his classes at Awaken. Given that many of us have adapted to a lifestyle that has us sitting frequently, it is that much more important to take the time to target the lower body.
Dakota studied art and design in college in New York City and has a BFA Fine Arts Painting. In addition to teaching at Awaken Dakota works for a local paint and art supply company near downtown Denver. In his spare time, he enjoys the creating art, adventuring in the outdoors and spending time with his dog, family, and friends.
