BACK by popular demand, Adrian Mccavitt will be joining us at Awaken Denver to lead another 2-day workshop in July. When Adrian visited us last year, we learned SO much and loved his energy and vibe, so we invited him back!

This two-day, inversion workshop will take an in-depth look at the techniques necessary for proper alignment in inversions. This includes different variations in each inversion, such as tuck, straddle, and full position.

We will also examine appropriate hand and shoulder placement, torso strength, and the leg and hip intelligence necessary for negotiating inversions, as well as the mechanics behind more advanced movements such as press handstand. All movement possibilities will be offered with modifications and amplifications, so wherever you are in your practice, the workshop will be appropriate for you. To the extent to which the practitioner is ready, there will be specific instruction on advanced techniques and movements

There are 4 workshops during the workshop weekend – each is 1.5 hours long. You can choose to sign up for just a single workshop, or multiple workshops throughout the weekend.

**Note, you get a discount for signing up for ALL FOUR (Scroll down to the bottom to purchase the full weekend).

Weekend Workshop Schedule:
Bring: Materials to take notes if desired, workout clothing, and if you are attending 2 workshops in a day, consider bringing a light snack like a banana, nuts or energy bar and a bottle of water for the break.

SATURDAY, July 13th Workshops

All-Levels: Inversions
1:30pm - 3pm

This all-levels inversion workshop will take an in-depth look at the techniques necessary for proper alignment of inversions. This includes tuck, straddle, and full position. We will also examine appropriate hand and shoulder placement, torso strength, and the leg and hip intelligence necessary for negotiating inversions. >>>>> BREAK: 3pm - 3:30pm
All-Levels Press Handstand
3:30pm - 5pm

This workshop builds on level one and can be considered a direct continuation. We will go over specific drills and techniques to understand the stability and positioning of the shoulder and torso and how to leverage that to your advantage to “fall up” or press into your handstand. This is an all-levels workshop and students are encouraged to attend even if a free standing handstand isn’t in the daily practice (yet). It will illustrate proper form for entry’s into handstand and illuminate proper rebalance techniques to bulletproof your handstand. All movement possibilities will be offered with modifications and amplifications, so wherever you are in your practice, the workshop will be appropriate for you.

SUNDAY, July 14th Workshops

Intermediate/Advanced Inversions
1:30pm - 3pm

This workshop will take a deeper dive into alignment critical movements and how best to position yourself as precisely as possible. We will explore the mechanics behind more advanced movements and sequences. This workshop can be considered a stand alone workshop or continuation of level one.  All movement possibilities will be offered with modifications and amplifications, so wherever you are in your practice, the workshop will be appropriate for you. To the extent to which the practitioner is ready, there will be specific instruction on advanced techniques and movements. After a general assessment is conducted, and the student can demonstrate adequate fundamental techniques.

>>>>> BREAK: 3pm - 3:30pm
Intermediate/Advanced Hollow-back
3:30pm - 5pm

This workshop will take the techniques acquired from the all levels and intermediate workshop and improve on them with heightened scrutiny on alignment, shoulder positioning, leverage, and counterbalance in

hollow-backs. We will also be working additional movements and conditioning techniques to improve muscle strength, coordination, and flexibility. A 15-30 second freestanding handstand is a prerequisite to attend this class, however exceptions can be made if the practitioner wants to observe on a theoretical level, or participate knowing it is an intermediate to advanced workshop.
